How to set up a waitlist for a sold-out event

1. Turn on the waitlist Pro

   Open the event, find the Waitlist section and tick Collect waitlist sign-ups for this event. Save the event.

   The section now shows a link under Share this link when tickets run out. You can post this link anywhere, for example on social media or in a newsletter.

2. Let buyers join from your store

   If you use the EventTix Event details or Upcoming events blocks in your theme, they show a Join the waitlist button automatically once the event is sold out. Nothing else to set up.

   People who join give their name, email and how many tickets they want. Nothing is reserved and nothing is charged.

3. Offer freed seats

   When seats become available (for example after a refund), open the event and click Waitlist. For each person you want to offer seats to, choose how long they have under Give them (2 hours to 3 days) and click Offer tickets.

   They get an email with the deadline and a link to buy. Seats are not held: whoever checks out first gets them.

After the offer

• If they buy with the same email address, the waitlist marks them as converted.
• If the deadline passes, the offer closes and they stay on the waitlist. You can offer again or offer to the next person. EventTix does not move down the list automatically, so you stay in control of who gets seats.
• The page shows how many people are waiting and how many tickets they want in total.
